Notes by Dr. BB:
I have worked with color for many years and color therapy is featured in quite a few of the essential oil chapters of my Synthesis Materia Medica/Spiritualis of Essential Oils. For instance, lemongrass is associated with the color yellow, rosewood with the color pink, parsley with the color green, etc.
The revised 2025 edition of the SPE Repertory of Essential Oils (which will be made available toward the end of this year) will feature rubrics for each color that lists all the essential oils associated with that color. This way if you are going to use a certain color healing protocol (e.g., red light for the lumbar spine, orange light for the thoracic spine and yellow light for the cervical spine), you can select certain oils based upon their color associations to massage into the treated areas after exposure to the color light waves.
I have been spending quite a bit of time in the last few months both studying color and practicing color therapy. I have found the results to be profound. The addition of color has definitely amplified the effects of all my other therapies and greatly deepened their impact. Color lights, when used properly and strategically, can effect all levels of being simultaneously. It is also invaluable for helping release the effects of old traumas, including childhood traumas. Color light therapy also deepens dreaming and can help turn dreaming into a therapeutic experience.
I did a color therapy protocol the other day with a woman, the intention of which was to rebalance her endocrine system. The results were remarkable. She went from being fatigued and imbalanced to brimming with energy and feeling happy and deeply connected with her inner self.
I use a number of different color therapy tools including a Colorpuncture set, a polarized light transmitter and a chromotherapy (color therapy) flashlight-like device. There are less expensive color tools on etsy.com. Check those out using the search terms “color therapy tools” ; “colorpuncture”; or “chromotherapy tools.”
