Neroli Materia Medica

Neroli oil is distilled from the flowers of the bitter orange tree. The essential oil distilled from sweet orange blossoms, referred to as neroli petalae, is far less fragrant (and much less expensive) than true neroli oil and is frequently used to adulterate true neroli oil.

On a psychospiritual level, neroli is said to: encourage the development of self-confidence and the ability to take the initiative; stabilize both houses of shen; integrate mind and body and rational and higher consciousness; instill a feeling of peace and of spiritual purity; help reconstitute the aura after illness or trauma.
