Spiritual PhytoEssencing (SPE) is a continuously evolving art developed by Dr. Bruce Berkowsky, one of the world’s leading masters of psycho-spiritual work with essential oils. (The word phytoessence is a synonym for essential oil.) SPE is a system intended to encourage deep, soul-level healing using essential oils. It is based upon a synthesis of certain aspects of aromatherapy, physiology, classical homeopathy, anthroposophical medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, herbal medicine and folklore, depth psychology, color therapy, gemstone healing and the Kabbalah.
In SPE, essential oils are used to help overcome the estrangement between one’s higher soul and everyday rational consciousness. This estrangement is the most fundamental factor in the inability to actualize one’s true self. In turn, this inability to actualize one’s unique “soul print” leads to anger, anxiety, frustration, depression, regret, etc. These negative emotions are often repressed, becoming morbidly introverted emotional “cysts.” Our bottled-up emotional cysts hold us back physically as well as emotionally.
